There will be a four-hour, star-studded “She’s With Us Concert” in Los Angeles on Monday night to benefit Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. It is a big to-do and could prove to be a lucrative fundraiser.
Staged at the historic 5,900-seat Greek Theater in Griffiths Park, the event will feature Mrs. Clinton, of course, plus Christina Aguilera, Andra Day, John Legend, Ricky Martin and Stevie Wonder. Immigration, women’s equality and climate change will be among the political themes of the night. Tickets are priced from $45 to $5,000 — and they are completely sold out.
This is actually the second “She’s With Us” concert. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign organized an earlier version at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, featuring Katy Perry, Elton John and the aforementioned Ms. Day.
Monday will prove to be very busy for the former secretary of state. Mrs. Clinton will be arriving at the evening venue from three earlier campaign events in the Los Angeles area. She departs for New York on Tuesday and plans a massive election night watch party in the Brooklyn Navy Yard as dusk falls.
Mrs. Clinton plans to “discuss her plans to break down the barriers that hold too many families back and build ladders of opportunity for all Americans,” according to her campaign.
She’s not the only candidate focused on campaign entertainment. Rival Democratic hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont also staged a concert in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The event at the Memorial Coliseum Olympic Plaza featured multiple musical acts, speechifying and appearances by veteran actors Dick van Dyke and Susan Sarandon. Mr. Sanders’ event, by the way, was free.
