On Wednesday, the Presbyterian Church in America approved a new logo which incorporates a cross and an open book, presumably a Bible. But folks on social media were quick to notice the logo bears a striking resemblance to a Star Wars character.

“Boba Fett is now the official logo of the PCA. #BestDenominationEver,” tweeted Michael Foster of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

A Facebook group called Presbyterian Memes on Thursday ran with the joke. “The PCA seems to be taking their cue from Boba Fett for their new logo,” they quipped, attaching a photoshopped image of the Star Wars bounty hunter with the new PCA logo on his chest.

Of course, such memes lend themselves to nerdy nitpicking in the comments thread.

“The color scheme is just screaming Jango Fett though,” one commenter replied, referring to the character from the Star Wars prequels who was the father of Boba Fett, the bounty hunter from “The Empires Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”
