A British comedian sought to inject himself into American politics on Friday by crashing one of Donald Trump’s press conferences with Nazi-inspired golf balls.
Mr. Trump arrived in Turnberry, Scotland, by helicopter to reopen Trump Turnberry resort early Friday morning, but prankster Lee Nelson briefly stole his limelight. Mr. Nelson, whose real name is Simon Brodkin, rushed toward the billionaire’s podium with Nazi props.
“The new balls are available from the clubhouse as part of a new Trump Turnberry range,” Mr. Nelson said, Mediaite reported. He also apologized for not handing them out to attendees beforehand.
“Get him out of here,” Mr. Trump said as security hauled off the comedian, who also captured headlines last July by pouring fake dollar bills over FIFA President Sepp Blatter’s head.
Mr. Trump invested close to $300 million to renovate Turnberry, which is located roughly 55 miles southwest of Glasgow. The resort has hosted the Open Championship four times.
The real estate mogul is expected to accept the 2016 Republican presidential nomination during the party’s convention July 18 through July 21 in Cleveland, Ohio.
