Bryan Cranston has been cast in the role of Zordon, the disembodied head in charge of the “Power Rangers,” producers of the forthcoming movie announced on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Cranston joins a cast that already includes Elizabeth Banks, R.J. Cyler (“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”) and David Denman (“The Office”),” CBS News reported Wednesday.

Mr. Cranston’s move may be a head-scratcher for many given the actor’s critically-acclaimed and award-winning performance as science teacher-turned-meth dealer in AMC’s “Breaking Bad.”

Oddly enough, according to the Internet Movie Database, Mr. Cranston was at least twice a voiceover artist for the 1993 TV series “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.”

A video uploaded in September 2013 on YouTube on the Shout! Factory channel claims to have one such clip.

“Before you knew him as Walter White and even before you knew him as Hal from Malcolm in the Middle, Bryan Cranston did some voice acting on Power Rangers. Check out Cranston as Snizzard!” claims the video synopsis.
