Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may take the work ethic that led him to dominate Hollywood all the way to the White House.
Mr. Johnson was a star football player in college and the biggest name in professional wrestling. He parlayed his talents into a successful acting career, but now he tells Britain’s version of GQ that a political career may be in his future.
“I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out,” Mr. Johnson said for the magazine’s June issue. “I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure. I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring.”
The actor said that there are “a lot of other things” he needed to accomplish before officially stepping into the political arena, but liked the idea of making “a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale.”
One way “The Rock” is currently affecting lives is through his hit alarm app — “The Rock Clock.” The motivational app is just one aspect of “Project Rock,” which is aimed at helping as many people as possible reach their goals. Users receive motivational messages by the actor and can set their custom alarms to his morning wake-up.
“We all have hopes, goals, dreams and aspirations, and I’ve officially made it my project to help as many of you get after your goals as possible. Let’s get after it and chase greatness … together,” Mr. Johnson says on the Project Rock website.
Mr. Johnson also stars in the upcoming comedy “Central Intelligence,” which will be released in North America on June 17. The New Line Cinema film also stars Kevin Hart.
