A former consultant for Donald Trump and longtime ally Roger Stone charged Monday that Huma Abedin, a top aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, could be a “terrorist agent.”

“Now that Islamic terrorism is going to be front and center, there’s going to be a new focus on whether this administration, the administration of Hillary Clinton at State was permeated at the highest levels by Saudi intelligence and others who are not loyal Americans,” Mr. Stone said on Sirius XM’s “Breitbart News Daily.”

“I speak specifically of Huma Abedin, the right-hand woman, now vice chairman or co-chairman of vice — of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign,” he said.

“She has very troubling ties to a man who was directly tied to funding terrorism, Abdullah Omar Nasseef,” Mr. Stone continued, referring to a professor at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, The Hill reported.

“It’s not just Huma, it’s her mother and her father who are hardcore Islamic ideologues,” he added. “We have to ask: Do we have a Saudi spy in our midst? Do we have a terrorist agent?”

Mr. Stone expanded on his comments in an article Monday for Breitbart News.

“At the least, what to make of someone who has lived for 17 years in Saudi Arabia, with parents who have close, longstanding ties with people connected to terrorist organizations, and then comes to the U.S. and within two years gets a job as the first lady’s assistant?” he asked.

Mr. Stone claimed Ms. Abedin’s family can be directly tied to two global charities — financed by the Saudi government — that were used by Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and Abdullah Yusuf Azzam to commit acts of terror against the West.

He also questioned how Ms. Abedin was paid less than $28,000 annually from April 2005 to March 2006, yet she purchased a Washington, D.C., apartment in 2006 for nearly $650,000.

“The question here is, on an annual salary of no more than $28,000, where did the money come from?” he asked. “We’ve caught [some] of the greatest spies due to their spending well beyond their salaries.”

He argued that Ms. Abedin’s involvement with Mrs. Clinton’s private email server also casts serious doubt on her judgment.

“Now, since we know Hillary had hundreds of classified or top-secret documents on her vulnerable server (despite her early lies saying she did not), any faith in Huma’s judgment — at the very least — has been demolished. You will soon ask yourself, ’how did this woman get a security clearance?’” he wrote.

“So how has the media dealt with Huma Abedin? In short, they haven’t. The family’s critics have been attacked and labeled as conspiracy theorists,” Mr. Stone wrote. “This isn’t some minor aide. Huma Abedin has been at Clinton’s side for decades, and it’s time America got some answers.”
