Sen. Bernard Sanders’ campaign manager on Wednesday said Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton has a “much more scripted program” on the campaign trail compared to Mr. Sanders.
“It is true throughout this campaign that Secretary Clinton has been much more difficult for the media to reach if you talk to the people who cover her campaign most directly,” Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said on “Fox and Friends.” “I think there’s a lot of frustration among the media about her accessibility.”
“Bernie Sanders is out there every day, very accessible to the media, holds avails, media avails all the time,” Mr. Weaver said. “The secretary has a much more scripted program.”
Mrs. Clinton hasn’t held a formally organized press conference for some time, though she said on CNN Tuesday that she’s done nearly 300 interviews in 2016.
Mr. Weaver also said presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, who lambasted the media during a Tuesday press conference in New York, shouldn’t be complaining about the coverage he gets.
“I wouldn’t say that they’re in the tank for Hillary — absolutely not,” Mr. Weaver said. “And I think what’s outrageous about what Donald Trump did is that he himself has benefited from hours and hours and hours of uninterrupted coverage of his rallies all around this country.”

“I mean, he has received probably well in excess of $100 million worth of free coverage from media who just puts his rallies up on the air hoping he’ll say something outrageous,” Mr. Weaver said. “So he’s really not in a position to complain about media coverage.”
