Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani on Wednesday said he was “very disappointed” in FBI Director James B. Comey after Mr. Comey declined to recommend charges against Hillary Clinton in the matter surrounding her private email set-up.
“As associate attorney general and as Jim Comey’s boss for two or three years, I was very disappointed in him,” Mr. Giuliani said on “Fox and Friends.”
He said Mr. Comey’s decision was “logically inconsistent.”
“He contradicts himself at least three times,” Mr. Giuliani said.
Mr. Comey on Tuesday said that while Mrs. Clinton, who is now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, was reckless in the way she handled her private email set-up as the former secretary of state, he would not recommend criminal charges against her.
Mr. Giuliani did say that if he were advising presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign, he would “stay away” from Mr. Comey.
“Just take the first part of the report,” Mr. Giuliani said. “It disqualifies her for president. I mean, how can we have a president that was, in the words of Jim Comey — who let her off — was extremely careless in the handling of thousands and thousands and thousands of some of our most sensitive documents?”
“How can we have a president like that?” he said.
