Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta told reporters Tuesday that the FBI director’s blistering critique of Hillary Clinton’s email system “hardly” overshadows her first campaign rally with President Obama.
Speaking to reporters upon their arrival in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Air Force One, Mr. Podesta pronounced the occassion “a great day.”
Asked by a reporter if FBI Director James B. Comey’s assessment of Mrs. Clinton’s email system is overshadowing the campaign event, Mr. Podesta replied, “Hardly.”
Mr. Comey said Mrs. Clinton was “extremely careless” with her private email system as secretary of state, and that foreign actors likely hacked into her messages. But the FBI director said he is not recommending criminal charges in the case.
