“Saturday Night Live” cast member Kate McKinnon has become somewhat famous for her comedic impression of a manic, power-mad Hillary Clinton. On a Wednesday night appearance on MSNBC for a special convention-edition of SNL’s “Weekend Update,” however, the comedian and actress set her sights on Donald Trump and the Republican convention, effecting an over-the-top impersonation of another powerful woman in the news — Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“McKinnon arrived as a faux version of the notorious RBG to take aim at the presidential hopeful and his colleagues — including vice presidential contender, Governor of Indiana Mike Pence, and Trump’s political surrogate, Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie. Let the Gins-burns begin!” explained entertainment-news site Eonline on Thursday.

Justice Ginsburg recently came under fire for critical remarks she made about a potential Donald Trump presidency. She was roundly criticized by court watchers across the political spectrum and subsequently issued a statement expressing regret for her remarks.

“If my mind is shot then Donald Trump’s mind is shot, stabbed, strangled, put in a vat of wet cement and dumped in the Gowanus Canal,” Ms. McKinnon’s Ginsburg character riffed. “His mind is sleeping with the fishes, but it’s waking up to a Ginsburn.”

Mr. Trump’s biggest booster of late, the governor of New Jersey, was also roasted. “Chris Christie on the Supreme Court? I’d rather have an empty chair than a broken chair,” said Ms. McKinnon, according to Eonline.

It remains to be seen if Ms. McKinnon will return when SNL’s “Weekend Update” crew sets up shop in Philadelphia at the Democratic convention for a special segment to air on July 27.
