ANALYSIS/OPINION:

CLEVELAND — Behold! A new American political dynasty is born!

Goodnight, Camelot. Move over Bushes and Clintons.

Meet the entire Trump clan.

You know the patriarch. Love him or hate him, you cannot dispute the tremendous success Donald Trump has enjoyed in his first serious foray into national politics. Against all odds he has taken on the entire political establishment and managed the hijack a party that prides itself on the steady recycling of staid, boring, buttoned-down pols.

Not so these Trumps.

Monday night, the world was introduced to The Melania.

Giving her first prime-time speech before thousands of people in a cavernous hall to millions of people watching television in her fifth language, Melania Trump was steely and sincere. She reminded us of the great privilege it is to be an American.

Not only would she make a great first lady, but she would also make a better secretary of state than the ones America has suffered through the past eight years. At least she loves America and would put American interests above all else.

On a personal level, Melania Trump also proved the single most important trait about a man in her husband. Any man who is drawn to strong, successful and confident women is a man who genuinely respects and values women and sees them as equals.

Tuesday night America met Don Jr. His background may be in real estate and construction, but he has a gift that will surely allow him to follow his father into his new line of business.

Recounting his father’s improbable explosion onto the national political scene, young Don talked about seeing the look in his father’s eyes when someone says something cannot be done.

When the real estate barons of Manhattan maneuvered to keep the Queens boy away, he said, Donald Trump responded by changing the skyline of New York City.

For Donald Trump, the son said, “impossible is just a starting point.”

Already, America has gotten to know daughter Ivanka a little. She is as measured, poised and cultivated as her father can be loud and impolitic. If her father is a born disrupter, she is a born politico.

And then there is Tiffany, the latest jewel added to the family’s political crown Tuesday night. Just out of college, she proved herself to be poised, confident and well-positioned to carry on the Trump family’s new line of business.
