The Republican National Convention has denied press credentials to the Center for Responsive Politics, the group said in a tweet on Friday from its @OpenSecrets account.

“We’ve been denied press creds. by RNC, though we’ve had them every convention back to ’96. Any other nonprofit news orgs in the same boat?” the nonprofit organization asked via Twitter.

Replying to a follower in a subsequent tweet, CRP said the GOP convention denied the credentials because of “space constraints.”

The primary online project for the political-fundraising watchdog is the Open Secrets website, which it bills as the American public’s “nonpartisan guide to money’s influence on U.S. elections and public policy.”

CRP has been approved for a credential to the Democratic nominating convention in Philadelphia, pending Secret Service approval, the group told The Washington Times via Twitter.
