As former President Bill Clinton prepares to campaign for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire Monday, GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump called him “one of the great women abusers of all time” and said Mrs. Clinton was an “enabler” of his behavior.
Mr. Trump said Monday he’s simply responding to incoming attacks.
“They, during the course of the debate and many other times … she used the word ’sexist,’ [that] I’m sexist,” Mr. Trump said on CNN’s “New Day.” “And she was using very derogatory terms.”
“I said, how the hell can she do that when she’s got one of the great women abusers of all time sitting at her house …,” he said.
Presented with his past comments downplaying the impeachment of the former president over the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Mr. Trump said it was in his interest as a businessman to get along with everybody.
“It was important for me to get along with the Clintons, whether she was a senator, whether she was [a] secretary of state,” he said.

“It was important for me, as secretary of state, as a senator, to have all these people on my side,” Mr. Trump said. “I needed votes for things … and I would have these people on my side. So I wasn’t going to get involved with the Monica Lewinsky thing.”
“And I wouldn’t get involved in it now,” he continued. “I don’t [really] care about Monica Lewinsky, other than I think that Hillary was an enabler and a lot of things happened that were obviously very seedy. I mean, he was impeached, for heaven’s sake. [He] was impeached over this stuff.”
Mr. Trump said Sunday on “Fox and Friends” that Mrs. Clinton is “not an innocent victim.”
“She was the one that would go along with him in this whole game that they play, and you look at what happened with some of the people that he took advantage of and then she gets involved, so she’s not like the innocent person sitting by the side … with tears in her eyes,” he said.
“She’s a person that was very much involved,” Mr. Trump said.
Mrs. Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign has previously said Mrs. Clinton won’t be “bullied” by Mr. Trump and that she “won’t be distracted by the slings he throws at her and former President Clinton.”
