Billionaire businessman Donald Trump is running first in Florida ahead of Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and two native sons — former Florida Gov. Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida — in a new poll on the 2016 GOP primary contest in the Sunshine State.

Mr. Trump was at 31 percent support in the Opinion Savvy/InsiderAdvantage survey conducted on Sunday, followed by Mr. Cruz at 19 percent, Mr. Bush and Mr. Rubio at about 12 percent apiece, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 7 percent.

Of the respondents who said they watched the Jan. 14 GOP debate, 37 percent said Mr. Trump did the best, followed by Mr. Cruz at about 24 percent and Mr. Rubio at 17 percent.

Twenty-eight percent of those who watched the debate said Mr. Bush did the worst, followed by Mr. Carson at 21 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 18 percent.

The poll was conducted for the Florida Time-Union and Fox 13 Tampa Bay.
