LANDOVER — Washington Redskins running back Matt Jones is inactive against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday because of a hip injury that has now kept him out three consecutive games.
Without Jones, the Redskins will go with running backs Alfred Morris, Chris Thompson and Pierre Thomas in the wild-card round game.
Inside linebacker Perry Riley, recovering from surgery on his right foot, is also inactive despite making his return to practice this past week.
Center Kory Lichtensteiger is expected to be the Redskins’ starting center, marking his first appearance in a game since a nerve issue left him experiencing weakness in his left shoulder following a Week 5 loss at the Atlanta Falcons.
Cornerback Quinton Dunbar is active despite being questionable with a quadriceps injury. He was limited in practice all week.
Quarterback Robert Griffin III, left guard Arie Kouandjio, defensive end Frank Kearse, tight end Marcel Jensen and cornerback Jeremy Harris are also inactive for the Redskins.
Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari, who did not practice all week and has missed the last two games because of a left ankle injury, is inactive and will not play.
Also inactive for the Packers are cornerback Sam Shields, who has now missed four consecutive games as he recovers from a concussion, as well as right guard Josh Walker, tight ends Justin Perillo and Kennard Backman and outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott.
