The New York Daily News unveiled the cover for its Friday edition blasting GOP front-runner Donald Trump for his remarks against Pope Francis.

The newspaper revealed Thursday on Twitter that the edition would feature an illustration of Mr. Trump as a demonic figure with the headline “ANTICHRIST.”

“Pope calls out hateful Trump: ’A person who thinks only about building walls & not bridges is NOT CHRISTIAN,’” the cover reads.

The leader of the Catholic church made the remark Thursday after conducting mass in Mexico. He was responding to a question about Mr. Trump’s controversial border policies.

Mr. Trump fired back, calling the Pope’s comments “disgraceful.” He said a religious leader should not engage in politics.

“If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which everyone knows is ISIS’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been president,” Mr. Trump said.

Earlier this month the New York Daily News hammered the real estate mogul and his supporters in the New Hampshire party primary, calling them “zombies.”
