GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump says he’ll likely change his tone as he gets closer to the White House and that he’s capable of changing to whatever he wants to.
“As I get closer and closer to the goal, it’s going to get different,” Mr. Trump said in an interview that ran Wednesday on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”
“We started off … 17 people. Now we’re down to not very many people,” he said. “And once you get to a certain level, it changes. I will be changing very rapidly.”
“I’m very capable of changing to anything I want to change to,” the real estate mogul said.
Mr. Trump had been asked whether people can expect cleaner or softer language from him. He again explained his repeating a vulgar term a supporter used to describe Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at a rally earlier in the week.
“Well, sometimes I’ll copy other people’s language,” he said. “A woman got up and used a little bit of a bad word, and I said, ’Don’t you dare use that word,’ and everyone said, ’What’s the word?’ and I said, ’Here’s the word, but she used it; not me.’ We were just having fun.”

“I re-used her word,” he said. “I will tell you, the place stood up. … It was like a standing ovation. It’s called politically correct. We’re too politically correct.”
