FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Alex Copeland had 14 of his 16 points after the break and Yale pulled away in the early part of the second half for a 66-52 win over Sacred Heart on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs (4-4) opened the second half with a 14-2 run to take a 40-28 lead on Blake Reynolds’ jumper with 15:30 left.

Quincy McKnight’s 3-pointer pulled Sacred Heart back within single digits, but Yale scored the next 12 points and led 53-31 at the 10-minute mark. The Pioneers (4-6) did not challenge from there and the Bulldogs had their largest lead at 60-37 with 5:20 to go.

Jordan Bruner added 14 points, six rebounds and four blocks for Yale. Sam Downey had 10 points and seven rebounds.

De’von Barnett had 14 points and McKnight scored 12 for Sacred Heart.
