CHICAGO (AP) - A felon caught selling guns out of his garage in a Chicago neighborhood has been convicted of illegal firearms possession.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jamel Davis was found guilty of selling two .38-caliber revolvers from the garage of his home on July 23, 2014.

The U.S. attorney’s office for the Northern District of Illinois reported that a jury convicted on Davis Wednesday of possession of a firearm by a felon.

He faces a maximum ten years in prison when U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis sentences him in March.

Authorities say the case against Davis was part of a larger probe in which federal officials have removed more than 100 guns from Chicago streets.

Trial evidence showed Davis provided one gun in his garage to an individual who was cooperating with federal authorities.
