One of failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton’s longtime associates plans to soften the blow of defeat by creating the “Breitbart of the left.”

Democratic Party insider David Brock told reporters Tuesday that President-elect Donald Trump will soon face withering attacks from the super PAC American Bridge, as well as a website designed to eventually rival Breitbart News.

“The Trump administration is shaping up to be one of the most corrupt since the Gilded Age,” Mr. Brock said, The Hill reported. “American Bridge will use everything at its disposal to hold it accountable.”

Mr. Brock, whose resume includes the creation of Media Matters for America, added that the website Shareblue is primed to become a left-wing media powerhouse with proper support from donors.

Over 225 liberal donors have been invited to a Palm Beach, Florida, meeting during Mr. Trump’s inaugural weekend to discuss strategies and secure funds.

“A lot of garbage came spewing out of Facebook [during the election], and these companies need to adopt new standards and clean their own house,” Mr. Brock added. “We’ll be involved in a campaign to push them to do that.”

Mr. Brock is no stranger to trending Facebook and social media stories. His name was mentioned during the election in WikiLeaks documents belonging to Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.

“Hillary truly understands now how bats—t crazy David Brock is,” Neera Tanden, head of the Center for American Progress, told Mr. Podesta in a Feb. 11, 2015, email.

Ms. Tanden also called him a “nut bar” in a Jan. 17 email.

“Look, I think that’s rather tame if you consider it by the standards of talk in campaigns,” Mr. Brock responded during an Oct. 25 interview with MSNBC.
