Local authorities in England said Friday that pop star George Michael’s autopsy is “inconclusive,” and further tests are needed to pinpoint his cause of death.

“Mr. Michael’s death is still being treated as unexplained but not suspicious,” noted a statement from the Thames Valley police, People magazine reported. “The results of the tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks.”

Michael, 53, was found dead in his home on Christmas Day. At the time, the singer’s U.S. publicist told People magazine that the cause was heart failure and that he passed away “peacefully.”
