LAS VEGAS (AP) - Former Republican Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore plans to run for a Las Vegas City Council seat in 2017.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2ixgbDn ) that Fiore - who has made headlines in the past for her love of guns, brash statements and support for jailed Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy - said Thursday that she will be running for the Ward 6 seat currently occupied by Steve Ross.
Ross is not running, as he has reached his term limit. Instead, Fiore will be facing off against Ross’ wife, Kelli Ross, who previously announced her intent to run, and Clark County School Board Trustee Chris Garvey, who this month confirmed her intentions to run.
Fiore served two terms as Nevada Assemblywoman from District 4 in Northwest Las Vegas Valley.
