LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are investigating after finding a man’s body burned and dismembered in a vacant lot.

Officers had responded to a report of the body Wednesday morning near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Marion Drive.

Police Lt. Dan McGrath says the victim was discovered by a homeless person who sleeps in a tent on the property.

Investigators say it appears the body had been brought to the lot and burned overnight.

The man’s death marks the 166th homicide investigated by Las Vegas police this year.
