HENNESSEY, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say powerful winds caused some damage in the central Oklahoma town of Hennessey on Christmas Day.
The Hennessey Police Department says the Sunday storms downed some power lines and damaged some outbuildings. The National Weather Service in Norman says the storms brought gusty winds to some areas, but there were no reports of tornadoes.
The Storm Prediction Center received reports of minor damage from Sunday’s storms in parts of central and western Oklahoma, including roof damage and downed power lines in Kiowa County in the southwestern part of the state.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City had a high temperature Sunday of 73 degrees, which ties a record set in 1922 for the warmest high temperature for Christmas Day.
