GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - The New York Army National Guard is in the spirit of the season again.
Soldiers from the Queensbury Readiness Center are joining dozens of military family members and hundreds of friends for the annual Christmas Eve morning four-mile road march. It starts and finishes at the Glens Falls Civic Center. More than 700 participants were expected.
The event on Saturday morning is to show support for military men and women serving in Afghanistan, Kuwait and other locations around the world. It also recognizes participants with awards for key contributions.
The first Christmas Eve road march was held in 2004 by Army guard soldiers based at the now-closed Glens Falls Armory. Since then, it’s become a tradition.
