Hollywood actor and liberal activist Alec Baldwin politically lashed out late Thursday and early Friday in response to comments made by President-elect Donald Trump.
Mr. Baldwin, who portrays Donald Trump on the TV show “Saturday Night Live,” did not take kindly to a tweet by the real president-elect on Thursday after he mocked Hollywood stars who are trying to get Inauguration Day tickets. Mr. Baldwin, who recently told The New York Times he had an “obligation” to “dial up” criticism of the 45th commander in chief, did just that.
“We are not far from the day when the most reviled candidate in our history will become President. Unwanted by a significant majority of of voters,” Mr. Baldwin tweeted. “A man who has projected little other than an empty braggadocio and synthetic rhetoric about both his qualifications and plans but Inauguration Day means the beginning of the countdown to when he will be gone. And he will be gone. January 20. The countdown begins.”
The vitriol started soon after Mr. Trump tweeted, “The so-called ’A’ list celebrities are all wanting tixs to the inauguration, but look what they did for Hillary, NOTHING. I want the PEOPLE!”

Mr. Baldwin continued venting early Friday by saying he wanted to perform at Mr. Trump’s inauguration.
“I wanna sing HIGHWAY TO HELL,” he tweeted.
The actor, who is often compensated millions of dollars for his roles in big-budget films, portrays Mr. Trump on “SNL” for $1,400 per episode.
