VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) - Jared Brownridge made six 3-pointers and scored 30 points with five assists and Santa Clara defeated Valparaiso 87-80 in double overtime on Thursday night.

Alec Peters also had six 3-pointers for Valparaiso (9-3) and scored 35 points in a matchup that featured the country’s second- and fourth-leading active career scorers in Peters (1,999 points) and Brownridge (1,965).

Matt Hauser added 17 points and Nate Kratch 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Broncos (6-7), who won for the first time away from home.

The score was tied at 78 with 1:11 left in the second overtime before the Broncos outscored the Crusaders 9-2 the rest of the way.

Valpo had a five-point lead with five minutes left in regulation before Santa Clara outscored the Crusaders 7-2 to tie the game at 70 with neither team scoring in the final 1½ minutes. It was 74-all after the first overtime.
