LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Katie Lou Samuelson scored 23 points and Kia Nurse added 20 to help No. 1 UConn rout Nebraska 84-41 on Wednesday night for the Huskies’ 86th consecutive victory.

The streak is the second longest in NCAA women’s basketball history behind the 90 straight UConn won from 2008-11.

The Huskies (11-0) were never challenged by Nebraska (4-8), which hit just one of its first 10 shots against the stout Huskie defense. UConn jumped out to a 7-0 lead on Samuelson’s 3-pointer 2 ½ minutes into the game, went up 10 on Kia Nurse’s jumper with 3:26 left in the first quarter and led 22-7 at the end of the first period.

Hannah Whitish led Nebraska with nine points.

No. 4 MARYLAND 77, DUQUESNE 57

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Brionna Jones finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added 17 points as Maryland smothered Duquesne early then pulled away late.

The Terrapins (12-0) held the Dukes without a basket for a nearly nine-minute stretch in the second quarter to build a 32-16 halftime lead. Duquesne (6-7) trailed by as much as 26 in the third quarter but drew within 64-54 with 4:11 to go before Maryland responded with a 13-3 run to end it.

Amadea Szamosi led the Dukes with 21 points but Duquesne shot just 31 percent (16 of 52) from the field and was outscored 38-14 in the paint by the bigger, deeper Terrapins.

Maryland gets a week off then hosts No. 1 Connecticut on Dec. 29.

No. 6 SOUTH CAROLINA 70, SAVANNAH STATE 30

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - A’ja Wilson scored 18 points and South Carolina cruised to a victory over Savannah State.

Allisha Gray added 12 points and Tyasha Harris had 10 for the Gamecocks (10-1), who led 39-12 at halftime and never looked back.

South Carolina scored 17 of the first 20 points as Wilson and Gray combined for 11 of them.

Kenyata Hendrix had 15 points, including the 1,000th of her career, to lead the Lady Tigers (2-9).

No. 7 FLORIDA STATE 83, MERCER 40

MACON, Ga. (AP) - Leticia Romero scored 17 points, while Ivey Slaughter had 13 points and 11 rebounds to help Florida State rout Mercer.

The Seminoles (12-1) led by 21 after the first quarter and 53-17 at the half and never were challenged by the Bears (9-3).

Mercer, which hosted a top 10 team for only the second time in program history, struggled throughout. Kahlia Lawrence scored 16 points to lead the Bears (9-3).

No. 8 LOUISVILLE 78, VANDERBILT 66

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Myisha Hines-Allen had a double-double by halftime and finished with 24 points and a career-high 15 rebounds as Louisville beat Vanderbilt.

Hines-Allen had 12 rebounds and hit six of her first eight shots in helping Louisville (12-2) win its sixth straight. The Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year last season and preseason pick to repeat notched her third double-double in the past seven games.

Asia Durr added 16 points for the Cardinals.

Rachel Bell scored 21 points as Vanderbilt (10-2) saw its nine-game winning streak end.

No. 12 OHIO STATE 88, WINTHROP 48

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Kelsey Mitchell scored 19 points and No. 12 Ohio State bounced back from a loss to No. 1 Connecticut, beating Winthrop.

Stephanie Mavunga had 12 points and 14 rebounds to record her team-best sixth double-double in nine games this season. Tori McCoy added 12 points and Linnae Harper had 10 rebounds for the Buckeyes (10-4).

Angela Coello Perez scored 16 points and Erica Williams added 10 for the Eagles, who shot only 23.1 percent and were 3 of 15 from 3-point range. The Eagles have lost 11 straight games since winning their opener.

No. 13 WEST VIRGINIA 77, MOUNT ST. MARY’S 45

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Tynice Martin and Lanay Montgomery each scored 16 points, Montgomery with 10 rebounds and five blocked shots, as unbeaten and West Virginia defeated Mount St. Mary’s.

Kristina King added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers (12-0) and Teana Muldrow also scored 14, adding five rebounds and five assists. Montgomery’s five blocks moved her into second on WVU’s all-time list with 273.

Mount St. Mary’s to 27 percent (17-for-59).

Caroline Hummell led Mount St. Mary’s with 13 points.

No. 14 STANFORD 71, GEORGE WASHINGTON 52

WASHINGTON (AP) - Britt McPhee scored 21 points and Erica McCall added 13 points with 10 rebounds as Stanford defeated George Washington.

Nadia Fingall added 11 points and Briana Roberson 10 for the Cardinal (9-2).

Mei-Lyn Bautista scored 12 points to lead the Colonials (7-5) while Caira Washington added 10 points with 13 rebounds and Hannah Schaible pulled down 14 boards.

WYOMING 82, No. 15 COLORADO 75

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Liv Roberts tied her career high with 21 points and had 11 rebounds and Marta Gomez scored 11 of her season-high 19 points in the final three minutes to lead Wyoming to a victory over previously unbeaten Colorado.

With Wyoming (8-3) leading 74-69, Roberts made a steal, was fouled and made both free throws for a 76-69 lead with 28 seconds left before Gomez made six free throws.

The Cowgirls took the lead for good in the third quarter and had a 10-point lead on a couple occasions in the fourth quarter, the final time at 67-57 on two Roberts free throws with 3:49 left. From there, Kennedy Leonard scored all 17 of Colorado’s points to keep the Buffaloes (10-1) within reach.

Leonard finished with 29 points, two shy of her career high.

The last time Wyoming beat a ranked team was on Jan. 13, 2010, a 66-51 victory over No. 22 TCU.

No. 17 DUKE 68, VILLANOVA 50

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Rebecca Greenwell and Lexie Brown scored 18 points each to help Duke beat Villanova.

Kyra Lambert added 10 points for the Blue Devils (11-1), who took the lead for good at 8-7, early in a 15-0 run to close the first quarter up 19-7.

The Wildcats (4-6) closed to 28-22 late in the second quarter but trailed by double digits for most of the second half.

Adrianna Hahn scored 18 and Alex Louin 11.

No. 18 KENTUCKY 69, WASHINGTON STATE 67

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Makayla Epps scored 20 points and Kentucky held on to beat Washington State.

Evelyn Akhator had 19 points and 13 rebounds for Kentucky (9-3).

Alexys Swedlund had career highs with six 3-pointers and 20 points for Washington State (5-6).

TEXAS A&M 105, NO. 19 SYRACUSE 84

WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) - Danni Williams scored 30 points to help Texas A&M beat Syracuse in the Florida Sunshine Tournament.

Khaalia Hillsman added 25 points for Texas A&M (9-3) in its first 100-plus-point game against a ranked opponent in school history. The Aggies shot 60 percent.

Alexis Peterson matched her career-high with 34 points for Syracuse (9-4).

No. 20 OKLAHOMA 74, PORTLAND STATE 60

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Maddie Manning scored 17 points with three 3-pointers and a career-high 10 steals and Oklahoma overcame poor first-half shooting to rally for a win over Portland State at the Puerto Rico Classic.

T’ona Edwards added 12 points for the Sooners (9-3), who trailed 34-24 at halftime after being held to 21 percent shooting from the field while the Vikings shot 68 percent.

Oklahoma had steals on six of Portland State’s first seven possessions to open the third quarter to close within two, then took a 45-39 lead on Edwards’ jumper. Ashley Torres hit a 3-pointer and the Vikings closed to 48-46 in the fourth quarter, but the Sooners used a 22-3 run to lead by 21 with 2:32 left.

Oklahoma scored 50 points in the second half and scored 36 points off the Vikings’ 42 turnovers. Oklahoma had 27 steals, one shy of the school record set in 1995.

Torres led Portland State (6-5) with 12 points.

Originally scheduled to be played in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the event was relocated to Las Vegas because of the threat of the Zika virus.

No. 21 ARIZONA 63, HOLY CROSS 33

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Sophie Brunner had 14 points and Kianna Ibis added 12 and Arizona State cruised to a win over Holy Cross.

Robbi Ryan scored 10 points and Reili Richardson added eight with six assists for the Sun Devils (9-2), who have won seven straight.

Infiniti Thomas-Waheed finished with 11 points for Holy Cross (2-9).

No. 21 SOUTH FLORIDA 77, UNLV 42

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Kitja Laska scored 30 points, Maria Jesperson had 12 points, 18 rebounds and five assists, and South Florida never trailed in beating UNLV in the final contest of the Play4Kay Shootout.

Tamara Henshaw and Laia Flores scored 11 apiece and the Bulls (10-1) held the Lady Rebels to 28.6 percent shooting and outrebounded them 48-23, including 12-4 on offensive boards.

Dakota Gonzalez led UNLV (9-3) with 12 points.

NO. 23 VIRGINIA TECH 71, RADFORD 52

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Chanette Hicks had 18 points, seven rebounds and eight steals for Virginia Tech.

Sidney Cook added 15 points and 10 rebounds for Virginia Tech (12-0). Destinee Walker led Radford (7-3) with 18 points and seven rebounds.

No. 25 OREGON STATE 73, OKLAHOMA STATE 54

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Mikayla Pivec had seven of her 17 points in the fourth quarter when Oregon State pulled away and the Beavers beat previously unbeaten Oklahoma State in the Play 4 Kay Shootout championship game.

Sydney Wiese added 15 points and Breanna Brown scored 12. The Beavers (10-1) had a 9-0 run to lead 59-43 early in the fourth quarter and mostly traded baskets from that point on to earn their seventh straight win.

Neither team led by more than five in the first half until Oregon State went ahead 37-30 on Pivec’s jumper with 18 seconds left in the half.

The Cowgirls (10-1) had a 4-0 run spanning both halves to close to 37-34, but the Beavers scored nine straight and led by 12. Oklahoma State got no closer than 50-43 from there.

Kaylee Jensen led the Cowgirls with 24 points and Mandy Coleman scored 15.
