BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a 21-year-old inmate has been listed as escaped from the state work release facility in Burlington.

The Iowa Corrections Department said in a news release Wednesday that Malik Trotter didn’t return Tuesday after being given a pass to pick up a paycheck from his employer.

Trotter was transferred to work release on Nov. 21. He’d been sentenced to 10 years in prison in April 2013 after being convicted in Des Moines County of intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
