CHATHAM, Va. (AP) - Pittsylvania County deputies are investigating what they believe was a homicide after a woman’s body was found in a burning home.

The county sheriff’s office says in a statement that firefighters found the unidentified adult woman dead Wednesday morning inside the home in the Dry Fork community, north of Danville.

Sheriff’s investigator Devin Taylor says the home was occupied by the deceased woman and a juvenile.

No arrests have been made. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of the death.

The fire marshal’s office is investigating what caused the blaze.
