EAGLEVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Officials say a Montgomery County pediatrician who was charged with possession of child pornography last month has died while being held in the county prison.

Forty-eight-year-old David Kennedy was found dead at the Montgomery County Prison on Sunday. Officials have not disclosed how the Pennsburg doctor died or where in the prison he was discovered.

Kennedy was slated for a preliminary hearing at the end of next month on charges of criminal use of a communication facility and five counts of possessing child pornography.

He was being held at the jail after failing to post $250,000 bail.

Kennedy was arrested in November after a nurse practitioner found sexually graphic photos of children on a cellphone he gave her to answer emergency calls for his practice, Personal Care Pediatrics.
