TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - An independent college and retirement savings provider based out of Pennsylvania is opening a new office in Tucson next year.

Ascensus says it’s the country’s biggest independent savings services provider. It plans on opening a new office location in Tucson at the University of Arizona’s Tech Park by mid next year.

The company said in a news release that it chose Tucson after a national search because of its strong labor force and attractive facilities.

The UA Tech Park is in the outer Tucson area and includes 2 million square feet of developed space. It’s already home to over 40 companies and 6,500 employees.

The new Ascensus office can accommodate 170 workers and is projected to have a $200 million impact on Tucson and surrounding communities.
