RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - A riverside County sheriff’s dog is retiring after sniffing out crime for more than 9 years.

The Press-Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/2hLQXkZ ) that Inga the bloodhound has worked to find missing people since joining the sheriff’s Department in 2007. The department announced the dog’s retirement last week.

Inga has responded to more than 700 calls for service in her career, sniffing out Alzheimer’s patients, children, murder suspects and more. She was the department’s first working bloodhound when she started.

Inga’s career has ended with the training of her successor, another bloodhound named Copper who passed his certification test last month.
