ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Authorities in Virginia say they’re looking for a driver who took police on a high-speed chase and crashed into five parked cars before fleeing the vehicle, which had drugs inside.
Virginia State Police say the chase began Sunday night around 9:30 p.m. when a trooper tried to stop a Chevrolet Suburban for speeding in Roanoke.
State Police say the driver refused to stop and sped away, reaching speeds of up to 110 mph in a 55 mph zone. State Police say the driver hit five unoccupied parked cars on Orange Avenue and then fled.
State Police say when the vehicle was searched, 9 pounds of marijuana, crack cocaine and $2,300 in cash was recovered.
