OPINION:
Hillary Clinton asserts that she lost the election due to Russian hacking, for which she blames Vladimir Putin. According to her, it was a part of Mr. Putin’s strategy to discredit the tenets of our government and undermine our democracy. The truth, however, is much more frightening.
Mrs. Clinton is a self-confessed “progressive.” Progressivism rejects the basic tenets of our government, most notably the supremacy of the people over the government and the people having unalienable rights. They seek to blur the separation of powers in the federal government in order to expand the size and scope of the government beyond that intended by the Framers.
With their attacks on our election process, Mrs. Clinton and her progressive surrogates are doing more “to cause us to doubt ourselves and to create the circumstances in which Americans either wittingly or unwittingly will begin to cede their freedoms to a much more powerful state” (her words) than Mr. Putin could ever hope to do. The political philosophy of Clinton and all progressives is more akin to Mr. Putin’s political actions in Russia than it is to the intent of the Framers of the Constitution.
Mrs. Clinton’s loss on Nov. 8 was literally America and liberty’s gain.
