BANGOR, Maine (AP) - Chaise Daniels had 17 points and nine rebounds, Mikey Dixon added 16 points, and Quinnipiac overcame a cold-shooting first half to beat Maine 85-75 on Sunday.
The Bobcats only scored nine points through the first 10 minutes of the game and trailed 36-28 at halftime, behind Daniels’ eight points. Daniels tied it 40-all early in the second half and Peter Kiss gave Quinnipiac its first double-digit lead of the game at 71-61 with 4:53 left.
Maine twice pulled within six points in the final three minutes but Dixon answered with two free throws on the first occasion and Kiss beat the shot clock on the second for eight-point leads.
Abdulai Bundu added 12 points and nine rebounds for Quinnipiac (4-6), which scored 57 points in the second half.
Wes Myers led Maine (4-7) with 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting. Andrew Fleming had 11 points with eight rebounds and Marko Pirovic added 10 points.
