NEWARK, Del. (AP) - The University of Delaware has relaxed alcohol sale restrictions at Delaware Stadium and the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark.

The News Journal of Wilmington (https://delonline.us/2gTjrdF ) reports that last month’s Chris Young concert was the first time beer had been sold at concession stands during a concert at the sports arena.

Beer had already been available in a private donors’ club and at Delaware 87ers games at a beer garden.

The changes are part of a one-year pilot program that has also expanded beer sales at football games this past season.

Prior to this fall, only donors and premium ticket-holders had been allowed to buy beer at Delaware Stadium’s two beer gardens. The beer gardens are now open to anyone 21 or older. Beer is still prohibited from the student section.
