INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - NCAA President Mark Emmert has expanded Dan Gavitt’s role to the new position of senior vice president of basketball.

Gavitt will oversee all basketball issues and planning for men’s and women’s basketball in all three divisions. He will continue to manage the governing body’s partnerships with television networks for the men’s tournament.

Vice president of women’s basketball Anucha Browne will report to Gavitt. The changes announced Wednesday will take effect Jan. 1.

Joni Comstock was named senior vice president of championships after taking over as interim executive vice president of championships and alliances.

Oliver Luck, executive vice president of regulatory affairs, will add strategic oversight of corporate and broadcast partnerships. He’ll oversee football issues, strategy and long-term planning.
