Nike aired a new ad during coverage of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics on Monday night featuring transgender athlete Chris Mosier.
The 30-second spot, titled “Unlimited Courage,” features the triathlete answering questions about the challenge of competing against the opposite sex, such as how he knew he would be strong or fast enough to go up against men.
“I didn’t,” Mr. Mosier continually responds.
“That must have been tough,” the narrator says. “Didn’t you ever just want to give up?”
“Yeah, but I didn’t.”
Mr. Mosier was the first transgender athlete to make the U.S. men’s national team.
