Hillary Clinton has a narrow lead over Donald Trump in Georgia — a state that has voted for the Republican presidential candidate in seven of the last eight elections — according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll released Friday.
Mrs. Clinton had a 4-point, 44 percent to 40 percent over Mr. Trump in a head-to-head matchup in the poll.
In a four-way contest, Mrs. Clinton had a 3-point, 41 percent to 38 percent lead over Mr. Trump, with Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson at 11 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 2 percent.
The poll was conducted Monday through Thursday.
In May, Mr. Trump had held a 4-point, 45 percent to 41 percent lead over Mrs. Clinton in the state.
Recent polls have also shown Mrs. Clinton running competitively with Mr. Trump in other states that broke Republican in 2012 such as Arizona, Missouri and North Carolina, and leading in more traditional battlegrounds President Obama carried twice such as Florida, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.
