The NFL’s best receiver just got another big raise, and his first real chance to show he’s worth the money will come against the Washington Redskins on Sept. 12.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, who are coming to FedEx Field for the season’s first Monday night game, announced Wednesday the team has again restructured Antonio Brown’s contract.
According to NFL.com, the new deal bumps Brown, who has posted three consecutive record-breaking seasons and was originally signed for $6.25 million this season, to $10.25 million for 2016.
The move comes after the Steelers gave Brown a $2 million bump for last season. Brown is signed through 2017 and, if his production continues apace, is likely to become the highest-paid receiver in the league.
