Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign concluded a three-day fundraising blitz through the Hamptons with a private concert Tuesday evening that included performances by rock legends Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi and Jimmy Buffett.
The star-studded concert in Sag Harbor, the last of nine fundraisers held by the Clinton campaign between Sunday and Tuesday, and raked in $3.7 million, CNN’s Dan Merica reported.
Ticket prices started at $10,000, a Clinton aide told The Washington Post, and proceeds went to the Hillary Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee for the candidates organization and the Democratic National Committee.
Combined with other pricey events in the Hamptons where the cost of attendance ranged anywhere from $1,000 to $100,000, the Democratic presidential nominee brought in millions since the weekend with the Nov. 8 general election on the horizon.
The former Beatle suggested during his performance at Tuesday night’s fundraiser that he’s among those who’ve contributed to the Democrat’s campaign.
“This is the first time I’ve paid to hear myself sing,” Mr. McCartney told attendees. The singer had recently tweeted a photograph of himself with Mrs. Clinton, and concertgoers said the two were seen dancing together earlier during the fundraiser, The Associated Press reported.
Tuesday’s event kicked off with Mr. Buffet performing for over an hour before passing the microphone to the Bon Jovi frontman and later Mr. McCartney, AP reported.
The Beatles co-founder played “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “Lady Madonna” before he was joined onstage by the two other acts for a rendition of “Hey Jude.”
Video of the performance shared on Instagram appeared to show the White House hopeful dancing with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, during the tune.
