Britney Spears may want to hire security guards who are strong swimmers.

The pop star told BBC Radio 1 that she almost drowned recently on vacation in Hawaii, and well, not even her security team seemed all that concerned.

The 34-year-old singer was on the program to promote her new album, which is being released on Friday.

“They just kind of left me there. I think they knew I could survive my way through it,” EOnline.com quoted Ms. Spears from the interview.

“Literally, I almost drowned, and I’m like, ’Where is my security? They’re just going to let me die here, you know?’” Ms. Spears told a BBC radio host, according to EOnline, “and then I came in again and another wave took me under so I kind of made a fool of myself.”

The Louisiana-born Ms. Spears made headlines earlier this week for her announced partnership with the Red Cross to assist flood victims in her native state.
