From New York City to Beverly Hills, wealthy donors overwhelmingly favor Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump in this presidential cycle, giving millions more dollars to the Democrat than her Republican challenger.
According to a study by the Sunlight Foundation, Mrs. Clinton leads Mr. Trump 44 to 1 in donations from the country’s 25 richest zip codes, 24 of which are in New York and California.
The massive difference, the Sunlight Foundation said, is the largest it’s ever been between Republican and Democratic nominees.
“While the wealthiest areas of America historically donate more frequently to the Democratic nominee, this year shows an unprecedented disparity of support between the candidates,” the watchdog group’s Ben Berliner wrote. “While Clinton brings in more money than Trump overall, it’s the areas where the houses are the priciest … where Clinton’s campaign fundraising truly thrives.”
The study measured wealthy areas by the median home sale price. In the richest pocket, Sagaponack, New York, Mrs. Clinton received 22 donations totaling $14,921, while Mr. Trump received none.
In Beverly Hills, California, the former first lady has raked in 862 donations worth nearly $870,000, while the Republican businessman has gotten 39 for a total of $49,657. Similar figures can be seen in each of the wealthiest zip codes examined in the report.

In the only area outside New York and California — Alpine, New Jersey — Mrs. Clinton has received 50 donations worth $33,501, while Mr. Trump has gotten nothing at all.
Mrs. Clinton continued her celebrity fundraising blitz Tuesday night at a gala hosted by Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. On Wednesday, she’ll headline two more California fundraisers, including one hosted by Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Overall, Mrs. Clinton leads Mr. Trump in individual campaign contributions by a huge margin, $228 million to $36 million.
