Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in July boasted its best fundraising numbers of the election cycle, including a 24-hour stretch last week in which the former first lady hauled in $8.7 million.
Last month, the campaign brought in nearly $90 million, though some of that money will go to Democratic Party organizations, not Mrs. Clinton’s own operation. Her campaign started July with $58 million in the bank.
During the 24-hour stretch between 8 p.m. last Thursday and 8 p.m. last Friday, the period during and immediately after Mrs. Clinton addressed the Democratic convention in Philadelphia, donors ponied up $8.7 million, the campaign said in a statement Tuesday morning.
“We come out of the Democratic National Convention with our party united and our supporters energized for the final 98 days of this campaign,” Hillary for America campaign manager Robby Mook said.
“Our goal for the next 98 days is to take the remarkable outpouring of support we saw as Hillary Clinton took the stage in Philadelphia and build on our efforts to organize and mobilize millions of voters to elect progressive candidates up and down the ballot in November.”
