Former Interior Secretary Ken Salazar will lead Hillary Clinton’s presidential transition team, the Clinton campaign announced Tuesday.
Mr. Salazar will chair the “Clinton-Kaine Transition Project,” and former National Security Adviser Tom Donilon; Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress; former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm; and Maggie Williams, director of Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, will serve as co-chairs.
Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said the campaign remains focused on winning in November, but Mrs. Clinton wants to be able to get to work right away as president-elect.
“These individuals, who bring a deep level of experience in the work of presidential transitions, will help us build a team that is ready to govern after the general election,” Mr. Podesta said.
Ed Meier and Ann O’Leary will shift from their roles as campaign policy advisers to manage the project’s day-to-day operations, and Heather Boushey, executive director of the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, will serve as the chief economist.
The entity was organized as a tax-exempt 501(c)(4) group, with Mr. Podesta listed as president and Clinton campaign senior adviser Minyon Moore listed as secretary.
