Panic ripped through a Raleigh, North Carolina shopping mall Saturday afternoon amid reports of shots fired, according to witnesses.

But shortly after 5:30 p.m. local time, police described the situation as “de-escalating,” reporting no arrests nor suspects, according to WRAL-TV.

Shoppers and store workers took to social media around 2:30 p.m. local time Saturday to say that the Crabtree Valley Mall was on lockdown following a possible shooting.

Video footage shared online by Twitter user Lauren Baker shows dozens of shoppers fleeing through a department store’s doors after gunshots were reported heard.

Multiple witnesses reported that a shooting had taken place, but police had not made an official confirmation as of 3 p.m., WTVD in Raleigh reported.

According to local media reports, police said the mall was on lockdown and that they were not aware of any injuries, nor had any suspects been apprehended.

No guns or weapons are allowed on the property, concealed or otherwise, according to the Crabtree Valley’s official mall policies.
