Veteran Washington political journalist Karen Tumulty is writing a biography of the late Nancy Reagan, Politico reported Friday.
Priscilla Painton, executive editor at Simon & Schuster, told Politico that the tome would be “the definitive biography of Nancy Reagan, showing how she more than anyone in her husband’s circle shaped his White House and his legacy.”
On Ms. Tumulty’s personal Facebook page Friday morning, The Washington Post reporter said the forthcoming book would be “quite a challenge, but a fascinating endeavor,” and said she looked forward to working with Ms. Painton, her former editor from her days at Time magazine whom she called “one of the greats.”
Mrs. Reagan, a fierce guardian of her husband Ronald Reagan’s legacy, died in March at 94.
