Hillary Clinton is delusional

OPINION:

Hillary Clinton sent and received classified information on her home-brewed email server.

“From the group of 30,000 emails returned to the State Department, 110 emails in 52 email chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received,” FBI Director James B. Comey said last month, in conclusion of the agency’s investigation into her server.

“Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional emails were ’up-classified’ to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the emails were sent,” Mr. Comey said.

Pretty black and white. Mrs. Clinton both sent and received classified material.

But not according to Mrs. Clinton. When asked about her home-brewed server in an interview with Chris Wallace on Sunday, Mrs. Clinton maintained she did nothing wrong and her previous statements were consistent with what Mr. Comey said.

“Chris, that’s not what I heard Director Comey say, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity, in my view, to clarify. Director Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people, that there were decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the e-mails. I was communicating with over 300 people in my e-mailing,” Mrs. Clinton said.

“They certainly did not believe and had no reason to believe that what they were sending was classified. In retrospect, different agencies come in and say, well, it should have been, but that’s not what was happening in real time,” she said.

The lies are confounding — she actually still believes she holds the correct narrative. And I say narrative because her statement has no factual basis in truth, it’s make-believe. Much like Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Clinton’s fairy-tale romance that was depicted during her convention (without any reference to his 1998 impeachment scandal); the rosy economic situation our country is in (we’re in the slowest economic recovery since 1949); and pretending the threat of ISIS doesn’t exist (the Islamic State terror organization scarcely mentioned last week — not one of the first 61 speakers gave any reference to it).

Mrs. Clinton’s honest and trustworthy numbers are already abysmal — 68 percent of those surveyed in a recent CNN poll don’t find her trustworthy, the highest number since the news organization began its poll. Her interview with Mr. Wallace on Sunday only confirmed those opinions.
