Sen. Ted Cruz leads the GOP presidential field in Wisconsin heading into Tuesday’s primary, while Sen. Bernard Sanders holds a narrow lead on the Democratic side, according to new polling released ahead of the April 5 contests.
Mr. Cruz of Texas has a 6-point lead in Wisconsin over GOP front-runner Donald Trump, 43 percent to 37 percent, with Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 18 percent, according to the CBS News/YouGov battleground tracker poll released Sunday.
On the Democratic side, Mr. Sanders of Vermont had a 2-point, 49 percent to 47 percent lead, over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
In upcoming contests in New York, though, Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton held advantages.
In New York, which votes on April 19, Mr. Trump was at 52 percent support, with Mr. Cruz at 21 percent and Mr. Kasich at 20 percent.
Mrs. Clinton, meanwhile, had a 10-point, 53 percent to 43 percent lead over Mr. Sanders in New York.
In Pennsylvania, which votes on April 26, Mr. Trump was at 47 percent, Mr. Cruz was at 29 percent, and Mr. Kasich was at 22 percent.
